The main types of flora in the area north of the Tanjung Puting National Park, is a forest (Kerangas) and insectivorous plants such as pitcher plants (Nepenthes SP). Peat swamp forest, found at the true center of the area and on the edge of the river and there are some plants that have, knee roots and aerial roots.
All along the river in Tanjung Puting National Park area there are water freshwater swamp forest (alluvial) true have a kind of plant complex and type of woody vine plants large and small, epiphytes and ferns creeping in large numbers. In the southern district of Tanjung Puting National Park area, there is a field with a vast thicket of plants, as a result of forest destruction (heath) due to logging and burning. Generally found in bag along Sekonyer River and its tributaries. Vegetation in the area consists of the main river-dominated marsh grass and pandanus sp macvrofita layout (bakung) which float like Crinum sp.
In coastal mangrove forest cover (mangrove) and further into the land that is in the brackish estuaries along the main river, there is a natural plant palm (Nypa fruticans) widely grown as far inland rivers and brackish water intrusion rate mark ashore. For coastal areas in many sandy beaches covered with plant Marga Casuarina, Pandanus, Podocarpus Scaevola and Barringtonia.
Other plant species that can be encountered in Tanjung Puting is of National Parks meranti(shorea sp), ramin (Gonystylus bancanus), Jelutung (Dyra Costulata), gaharu, kayu lanan, keruing (Dipterocarpus sp), ulin (Eusideroxylon zwageri), tengkawang (Dracontomelas sp), Dacrydium, Lithocarpus, Castanopsis, Hopea, Schima, Melaleuca, Diospyros, Beckia, Jackia, Licuala, Vatica, Tetramerista, Palaqurum, Campnosperma, Casuarina, whereas for the lower layers of the forest vegetation is of rattan and permudaan / infantile tree.
